  • Taoyuan offers NT$11,800 aid for uynemployed workers’ kids

    The Taoyuan City Government is offering the "Unemployed Workers’ Children’s Study Assistance Subsidy" to eligible applicants. The program provides up to NT$11,800 in subsidies for children of unemployed workers attending private colleges and universities. Applicants must be involuntarily unemployed and registered in Taoyuan City for over four months. Relevant documents should be submitted during the application period, which runs until Mar. 25. Even if applicants have not received the Ministry of Labor’s subsidy, they can still apply for the NT$11,800 study assistance subsidy from Taoyuan City. Documentation can be submitted by registered mail or through the Taoyuan e-government web portal.

  • Taiwan’s homeowner aid program ends next Friday

    The National Land Management Agency (NLMA) in Taiwan has announced that the application period for the "Mortgage Assistance Program for Low-and-Middle-Income Homeowners" will close next Friday. Since its launch on June 1, over 730,000 households have applied for the program, with more than 460,000 qualifying for the subsidy. The NLMA aims to benefit 550,000 middle to low-income households, and there are still places available for applicants as of Wednesday. Eligible customers are being notified by financial institutions through text messages, emails, or loan payment receipts. Applicants are only required to provide basic information online and will receive a one-time payment of NT$30,000 upon approval.

  • Chunghwa Post opens 1,021 full-time positions

    Chunghwa Post plans to recruit 1021 full-time positions, with a waiting list of 451 applicants. Online registration is open until two weeks from now. Applicants with a high school diploma or higher education are eligible, with expected monthly salaries ranging from NT$38,880 to NT$53,480. Initial testing is scheduled for Jan. 7 next year in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. Successful applicants will be on board by Feb. 28, 2025. The recruitment aims to fill job vacancies due to increasing retirements at the end of 2024. The selection process involves a writing test, speaking test, and fitness assessment.
